David Bronskill is a partner at Goodmans. His practice focuses on municipal law matters for private and public sector clients throughout Ontario. He assists clients with planning, environmental and heritage issues, as well as other municipal approvals.

He has acted for development companies, hospitals, educational institutions, shopping centres, retail establishments and restaurants, homeowners and ratepayer groups on numerous official plan amendment, zoning by-law amendment, plan of subdivision, site plan, development charge and variance applications and appeals. He has also acted for numerous municipalities, including the County of Simcoe, the City of Peterborough, the Town of Oakville and the City of Toronto, as well as public entities such as Sunnybrook Hospital, the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.

David has appeared before municipal councils and at Ontario Municipal Board hearings to obtain approvals for a variety of intensification projects in the City of Toronto, including within the Downtown, the West Queen West Triangle, King Street West, North York, the Fort York Neighbourhood, and the Kings, as well as greenfield development in East Gwillimbury, Milton, Markham, Oshawa and Richmond Hill. His retail work includes the ongoing development of the Square One Shopping Centre and Scarborough Town Centre, as well as approvals for large format retail uses in numerous municipalities. He also has extensive experience with other municipal issues, such as ward boundaries, development charge and infrastructure financing matters and the City of Toronto's publication box by-law.

David has also appeared before the Assessment Review Board, the Ontario Highway Transportation Board, the Divisional Court of Ontario and the Ontario Court of Appeal. He has delivered lectures on land use, infrastructure financing and municipal matters. He also lectures in first-year Trinity College seminar courses at the University of Toronto on public policy issues.

He is past-chair of the Executive Committee of the Alumni Association of Trinity College and sits on the Board for the Artscape Foundation and the Toronto Humane Society. He is also a member of the Advisory Board for the Toronto Lords Basketball Association, which is an elite basketball program for teenage girls in the City of Toronto. On Sunday mornings, he supervises the Law Society of Upper Canada's Feed the Hungry Program.
